Discover the full wonders of Luxor on this private East and West Bank tour. Departing from your hotel, you’ll explore both sides of the Nile, experiencing the grandeur of ancient Egypt’s temples, tombs, and monuments, all in one unforgettable day.
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Luxor in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. On the East Bank, you will first visit the Luxor Temple, dedicated to the Theban Triad of gods: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Built primarily by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II, the temple was used for processions and religious festivals. Admire the colossal statues of Ramesses II and one of the original obelisks at the entrance.
Next, explore the Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious site in ancient Egypt. Marvel at the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the sacred lake, and the Avenue of Sphinxes, while your guide explains the significance of the obelisks, chapels, and shrines dedicated to various deities.
After a short transfer to the West Bank, your journey continues with the Valley of the Kings, the burial ground of New Kingdom pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, Ramesses II, and Seti I. Explore several tombs (entrance fees not included) and admire their preserved paintings and architectural details.
Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, a mortuary temple carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, with terraces and colonnades telling the story of Egypt’s famous female pharaoh and her divine heritage.
Finish your West Bank exploration at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple. Legend says one of the statues “sang” at dawn, giving rise to its mysterious fame.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Luxor, completing a full day of history, architecture, and culture across both banks of the Nile.
