You've found the perfect escape from reality and booked your dream holiday, and Sharm El Sheikh is the destination you are heading for. Whether you are looking to enjoy a relaxing day soaking up the sun on the white sand or dive and snorkel in the depths of the crystal-clear waters, there is a beach that is perfect for you.

Naama Bay Beach

At the heart of the town that will win your heart over is Naama Bay Beach. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, and different resorts, you could spend a whole day here and still find something new to do.

If it is your first time visiting Sharm El Sheikh, or Egypt in general, this beach would be perfect for you. With a long promenade that comes alive at night, you do not have to leave the area from breakfast until nightfall.

With shallow waters that lap against the white sand, this beach is perfect for families with children, and with many different water sports available, like parasailing, jet skis, and snorkelling spots, it also makes it perfect for families with older children or couples alike.

Once you have finished your day of sunbathing, snorkelling, and swimming, you can shop, shop, shop in all the different shops located along the promenade, which comes alive at sunset.

Ras Um Sid

If your interest lies more with what is under the sea rather than on the land, this is the beach for you!

Popular with snorkellers and divers due to the amazing coral reefs and deep drop-off point, you can see a large variety of marine life here. This beach is located on the southern side of Sharm El Sheikh, near the lighthouse.

The quiet atmosphere contrasts greatly with that of Naama Bay. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and become attuned once again with nature, this spot is perfect for you!

Sharks Bay

Don’t worry! Unlike what the name suggests, this beach is not populated with sharks. It is, however, populated with luxurious and elegant resorts.

With its peaceful ambience and air of elegance, this area is perfect for honeymooners or adults-only groups. Situated north of Naama Bay, this area also has restaurants and a vibrant nightlife in what is known as ‘Soho Square’, meaning there is no need to venture far from your resort. Although one of the less populated areas, it does not make it any less interesting to visit.

Terrazzina Beach

If it is a party in paradise you are looking for, look no more! With themed events, affordable prices, and great music, this beach really has a life of its own.

With both local visitors and tourists, you can get a real mix and widen your social circle here. Located near the Old Market, once the partying is done, you can enjoy a spot of souvenir shopping for those at home or for yourself to keep the memories of your magical time here.

You can check the Facebook page and groups for this beach to keep up to date with what events are happening, when, and who will be attending.

Nabq Bay

If it’s a completely different vibe you are after, then Nabq Bay is where the nature reserve meets tranquillity. This beach is a protected area, and all coral reefs and marine life are closely monitored by the governing body. This beach is surrounded by desert scenery and is in close proximity to Bedouin camps, which you can visit. This means that the beach offers a great chance to do many things at the same time.

With shallow waters and accessible coral reefs, this is another area perfect for the whole family. Due to its location, Nabq Bay is windier than other beaches or bays in Sharm El Sheikh, making it the perfect spot to learn kite surfing – or, if you are already a seasoned kite surfer, to fill your sails. There are local schools where you can learn or rent equipment.

El Fanar Beach

The hidden gem of the city.

With an Italian restaurant offering a delicious menu on its private beach, you can enjoy a day of sun and great food!

This would be a perfect date day into night, with the beautiful views of the Red Sea and vibrant coral reefs located just off the shore – there is beauty to be seen both on land and off here.

Since it is a hidden gem and not so popular amongst tourists, this location is quieter and thus more intimate. So, if you’re holidaying with a special event in mind, such as a proposal, birthday, anniversary, or any other celebration, this would be the perfect spot.

Ras Mohammed National Park

Surrounded by large cliffs, deep seas, and many different things to see, this beach is a must-visit.

With protected lands, structures, and reefs, the area is well looked after and maintained.

Boasting more than 220 species of coral reef, more than 1,000 species of fish, 150 species of crustaceans, and other wildlife such as turtles, that alone can keep you busy. But that’s not all that is on offer there – you can also see the famous structure known as the ‘Gate of Allah’, which was built in 1973 by Egyptian engineers, or dive deep into the wreckage of the SS Thistlegorm, which is located just off the coast of Ras Mohammed.
