Family-Friendly Beaches
What counts as a family-friendly beach? Where there is something for everyone, no matter the age.
With a friendly atmosphere, clean environment, good food, and good vibes. For the younger children, a clean entryway into the sea and comfortable sunbeds for the adults to relax on.
What beaches offer all of this, I hear you say?
Bus Stop Beach – Sahl Hasheesh
Sahl Hasheesh is one of the most popular spots here in Hurghada, known for the long promenade along the seafront and beautiful sandy beaches. It is the area with the only 7* hotel in Hurghada and where all the hotels are known for their luxury and beauty.
Bus Stop is open to the public for use, and although it is one of the most expensive options available, there is a reason for that. When you first come onto the beach, you are greeted by the hosts and offered to use one of their soft Egyptian cotton towels. You will then be asked where you would like to sit on the beach. You have the choice of the front, second, or third line. In front of the DJ area or further down the beach away from the music.

The sunbeds have a nice thick cushion and changeable head heights so you can lie flat or sit slightly upright. For added comfort, they also have the option of using a large bean bag. Shaded by large umbrellas, you can enjoy the sun safely and comfortably. The atmosphere buzzes with a good time and some beach music as you enjoy delicious food and drinks from the menu.
Bus Stop serves soft drinks, cold and hot, as well as alcoholic drinks. The best part of this beach, and probably what it is most known for, are the floating sunbeds attached to the shore by a rope. Sunbathe whilst enjoying the refreshing waves of the Red Sea.
The entrance to the sea is clean and gradual, making it perfect for children, whether they are able to swim, just learning, or confident swimmers. You can even take your dog as long as it remains leashed, so it truly is a beach for the whole family.
Blue Beach
Located in the Hurghada Marina, this beach has the best of both worlds, with a pool area as well as a sandy beach entrance. A beach volleyball court at the beginning part of the beach and a choice of different sunbeds, whether you prefer a four-posted shaded sun-lounge or separated sunbeds under an umbrella, Blue Beach has got you covered. There are hammocks dotted around the beach where you can chill, read a book, and listen to the waves washing up on the shore.

The entrance to the sea is great, with a sandy and gradual entrance where you can build castles or sit and talk. What else could you want? Well, that’s not all! You can also enjoy time in the pool with a swim-up bar and even an attached hot tub. There is always a DJ playing, creating the perfect soundtrack for your perfect beach day.
But wait, that’s not all! You can even do some sea activities from the beachfront, like a banana boat, parasailing, or a sofa bed, which is dragged by a speed boat. With a varied menu for food and drinks, they really have thought of everything.
Anemone Beach
This is one of the cheaper options but is family-friendly. Along Old Sheraton Street, the entrance to the sea is shallow and clean from rocks, meaning that younger children can play safely and adults can sit in the shallows talking and enjoying. The sunbeds are comfortable, and there are enough that if you have a large family or group of friends, you can all sit next to each other and still be in each other’s company.
Anemone Beach
Enjoy your lunch whilst watching the boats sail past and sip your coffee as you hear children’s laughter fill the air. This beach does not have a DJ, but you can play your own music (quietly and respectfully, of course).
Couple-Suited Beaches
Orange Bay Beach / Giftun Island
Accessible via boat, you can enjoy the wonderful beach this island has to offer. Surrounded by miles of different shades of blue, this really offers a unique beach experience perfect for a private day getaway for the lovers out there. Snorkelling from the shore has never been easier, nor has it ever been more enticing.

You can even enjoy a romantic lunch overlooking the sea or in the sea – yes, in the sea – on little tables which are in the shallows. In the middle of Old Sheraton Street, this beach is one of the most popular amongst couples as it offers an exclusive, luxurious vibe. Don’t want to spend the whole day on the beach? No problem! You can enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the restaurant located on the beach.

Hula Hula Beach Island
Serenity, sea, sand, and sun. Doesn’t that sound perfect? It is exactly what this island has to offer. Making your ‘date day’ extra special with the large umbrellas made from palm tree leaves and comfy sunbeds or bean bags, you can really feel like you're all on your own on this large beach.

Beaches for Friends or Groups
What better way to spend your day than with the people who make you laugh, fill you with love, and make you forget your worries? Which beach is best to do this, I hear you say? Well, we have Dream Beach, where you can either simply enjoy relaxing on the beach or join in the different activities the beach has to offer. The beach itself is small, but it has two large piers with sunbeds where you can lie over the shallows of the Red Sea and watch the world go by.
Dream Beach
The sunbeds are quite close to each other, meaning there is no need to separate from the rest of your group, no matter how many of you there are. If you are an active bunch of people, this beach is perfect for you. With the option to join the volleyball games, Zumba, or stretching, and even the chance to watch a dance show from the comfort of your sunbed. A varied menu is available for you to enjoy, with soft drinks and alcohol included.
Then we have Arena Beach Club – offering mixed vibes with a relaxing beachfront equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. In the middle, a fully shaded restaurant area. To the pool in front of the DJ booth and inside (air-conditioned) seating area.

Also known as Selena Bay, this beach is on the way to El Gouna in an area called Al Ahya. Here they play music, allow good vibes only, and create memories. There is a big volleyball court and a semi-circular beach bar.

Some of the beaches mentioned also do evening beach/pool parties where you can continue your perfect day, such as Blue Beach, Mahmaya, and Arena. Depending on the day or event, you can find foam parties, themed parties, and late-night pool parties.
Shellghada Beach is a hidden gem, a smaller option but still just as beautiful. This beach has a great option for those wishing to spend the day with those closest to them. The beach is small, making it cosy and convenient for larger groups. No having to shout across the sand to complete your conversation with your bestie.
