The time of year has come when you escape reality for a week or two and have the chance to enjoy the feeling of the warm sun on your face, wind in your hair, and the refreshing coolness of either the sea or the pool. But what can you do in Hurghada that will make the family happy?
Here we will list the top five things to do and how much they cost on average.
Water Parks
There are a few choices of water parks you can visit, which have a variety of different slides or amusements to suit the whole family. From little baby pools with small waterfalls to large slides with big drops.
Some water parks have a kids’ club too, so you can drop the little ones off for a couple of hours whilst you enjoy yourself, and all of them have a restaurant or food court where you can enjoy a delicious spot of lunch. Depending on what package you take will determine whether your drinks are included or an extra charge.
Some of the options are:
Neverland Aqua Park (Jungle Aqua Park): Prices vary; approx. £75 per adult. Also included for guests staying at the resort.

Makadi Water World (Jaz Aquaviva, Makadi Bay): £40 per adult; children (around 5–10 years) pay half; kids under about 5 are often free. Includes entrance, full access to slides and pools, lunch and soft drinks. Transfers may be extra for some locations. We also offer this tour on our website as an official partner of Makadi Water World.

Makadi Water World
Sindbad Aqua Park: £30 per adult, children around half; kids under a certain age free. Includes pool/slides; extras (snacks, towels, etc.) may cost more.

Boat Trips / Island Trips
If you have children aged two and above, you may want to do a boat trip. You can choose a half-day excursion or a full day, with options where you simply stay on the boat the whole day or stop by one of Hurghada’s well-known islands. We do not recommend doing a boat trip with children younger than two; however, there are other options where the younger members of the group can still enjoy a day on the Red Sea.
Maybe you are a family of divers, snorkellers, or avid swimmers and have some marine life you want to check off your bucket list. Maybe you are dolphin and turtle enthusiasts and want to see them in their natural habitat (and have the possibility to swim with wild dolphins). Or maybe you just like the idea of escaping to an island where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity with your closest people.
Here are some of the trips you can do:
Paradise Island: Perfect for those with younger kids, as the waters are shallow. Approx. £40 per adult.

Paradise Island
Orange Bay: An island fit for the whole family, with music being played, restaurants to eat in, and even a swing in the shallow seas. €20–€40 per adult.

Orange Bay
Dolphin House: See and swim with the dolphins in their natural habitat at a protected coral reef known as the home or gathering point for the dolphins of Hurghada. €20–€30 per adult with private tours also available on our website.

Dolphins House Tour
All-day boat trip with water activities: Rather than stopping at an island, stay on the boat the whole day with snorkel and diving stops available. Usually €40–€60 per adult.
Jeep Safari Tour
There are many versions of the quad safari or jeep safari that can be participated in when visiting Hurghada. However, if you are a family made up of smaller or younger children, you should consider doing a short jeep safari tour. Usually lasting around five hours, you can go in the morning or late afternoon, depending on the time of year you are planning to travel.

ATV Quads in Hurghada
Ride on the back of a jeep to visit a Bedouin camp, where you will have the choice to ride some quads, ride a camel or donkey, eat some lunch, watch a show, and learn about how the Bedouin tribes live in the desert.
With perfect photo opportunities and safety absolutely paramount, this is an exciting way to spend some quality time together.
Usually costing around €20–€30 per adult.
Mini Egypt Park
Hurghada is a great city to choose to visit, as it is pretty close to both Cairo and Luxor if you are interested in seeing the Great Pyramids or the Valley of the Kings. But we know travelling is sometimes challenging for the younger members of the crew, and although you will be pretty close, there is still a four-hour or six-hour drive.
That’s why Mini Egypt Park is a perfect option. With miniature replicas of many of Egypt’s famous landmarks, you can see everything in one spot. Although this park is located outside, we recommend skipping it if you are visiting in the summer months, but it is perfect for the cooler days of spring, autumn, or winter.
With a kids’ play area and an enclosure with Nile crocodiles, it offers a mixture of activities to do with your little ones. This location is both stroller and wheelchair-friendly and costs €25–€30 per adult.
Take water and snacks with you, although there is a small café there where you can buy something to eat and drink.

Hurghada Museum
Egypt is, of course, famous for its ancient history. What better way to gain an educational but fun experience than walking around this museum and seeing the different artefacts?
The museum is a fairly new addition to Hurghada, only opening in 2020. It showcases over 2000 artefacts from different eras of Ancient Egypt. With the option of enjoying a guided tour or just a pleasant walk around, it is an activity that could take up a couple of hours from your day or a whole day if you wish it.
Costing around 200 Egyptian pounds per adult for tourists. We advise wearing comfortable shoes and putting your thinking cap on.
