Can I join Hurghada tours from Soma Bay?
Yes, Soma Bay is approximately 45 km south of Hurghada — about a 35–45 minute drive. Most Hurghada-based tours, including boat trips, desert safaris, Luxor day trips, and diving excursions, offer hotel pickup and drop-off from Soma Bay, though some may apply a small additional transfer fee due to the longer distance. When booking, simply select Soma Bay as your pickup location and the transfer will be arranged for you. Pickup times are usually noticeably earlier than for Hurghada hotels to account for the drive to the departure point.

Is there anything to do outside the resorts in Soma Bay?
Very little. Soma Bay is intentionally isolated, with almost everything centered around the resorts. There are no independent restaurants, shops, or promenades outside the hotel grounds. For dining out or nightlife, you'd need to head to Hurghada or Sahl Hasheesh by taxi.
